Alzheimer's disease/ Gerontology

To raise money for Sigma Kappa's foundation, we have held many different events.  One event we held in the past was a Gala.  The Gala was very successful and we were able to have a speaker come in and talk to us about Alzheimer's. It was a chance for our sisters to bring their family and friends, enjoy some food, and learn about how this disease impacts people's lives.

We have also held a bowling event in past Spring semesters, called Bowling for Memories. We rent out a bowling alley and sell tickets for individuals to come and bowl. This has always been a successful event and everyone loves to go out and bowl with their family and friends.

We also attend the Walk to End Alzheimer's at the Capitol Building in Lansing every year. We had so much fun going to the walk and supporting an amazing cause with our sisters this year!

As a chapter, we also go to a local retirement home and play bingo every Thursday night. It is truly a rewarding experience to play bingo with the residents and get to know them!

Maine Sea Coast Mission

The Maine Seacoast Mission was Sigma Kappa Sorority’s first national philanthropy chosen, in honor of Sigma Kappa’s founding in Maine. Every year, we send money and supplies to support the Maine Sea Coast Mission.

Inherit the Earth

We own a mile of the highway in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, and every semester we go out and clean our stretch. Our sisters all go together to try and improve our environment!
